Electrospun TiO2 Nanofibers in the Presence of Avocado Seed Extract

The electrospinning technique is particularly prominent in membrane production techniques due to its easy applicability and ability obtain nanofibers various diameters with high surface area. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) often used biomaterial technologies their biocompatibility, processability photocatalytic activities waste water treatment. In this study, TTIP (Titanium tetra isopropoxide) was as a TiO2 precursor PVP polymer carrier for electrospinning. Avocado seed extract (ASE) which new valuable source of phenolic compounds the coordination reduction TTIP. TiO2-PVP-Avocado (T/P/A) composite were produced at different voltages, distances concentrations. Crystalline formation not observed as-spun nanofibers, thus selected heat treated 500oC 3 h. Smooth integrated prepared by using 5 w% PVP, 15 kV cm distance or without ASE imaged Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). X-ray Diffraction (XRD) patterns heat-treated presence crystallized mainly anatase form. However, both rutile phases obtained crystalline structure when used. Specific IR vibrations shown Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). These green synthesized electrospun may have potential be engineering applications.
